£ July 7, 2006 - Downtown Meditation

It's been a crazy month, no doubt... Not only have I been hustling with Kev on the next GA release - as well as a published album cover illustration in July's Jazziz Magazine (second year in a row!)... Qbix Art Gallery in Philadelphia asked me to fill their space for the month of July. Friday, July 7th marked the debut of "Downtown Mediation," a collection of recent works. "First Fridays" in Old City, Philly are known to get wild - but DAMN! Shit was off the chain! It was an incredible night, beautiful weather with tons of beautiful strangers, friends, and family flocking to see my work. Made a couple nice sales and partied hard with the illest crew in the world right now: Eneldo, Allison, Kevin, & Nick (with Duran & Liz holding down the drunken PA influence) on some swanky hotel 21st floor blunted, Rich Medina foot stompin, Lager chuggin, cheesesteaks @ 3am shit. The day thru the night blew me away. Many thanks and much love to everyone who came through to the opening. Click to view some pics. "Downtown Meditation" will be up through Friday, July 28th - which just happens to be my 25th birthday.

Props to hot weather - - Julia, the Leo

£ April 20, 2006 - Griot Apparel is Unofficial!

A big shout-out to all the cool kids that made the trip into Brooklyn Heights, helping us celebrate Griot Apparel's birthday - unofficially. I don't think anyone really knew what to expect (myself and Señor DP included), but it turned out to be one helluva 4/20 house party. Tons of great people, bottles of brew, fly merch, dope artwork (yeah i had to say it), all lampin' under a unified green cloud. Yes, we stay gritty - there's no other way to be.

This was the first of many jams - the year of the griot, the narrator, relayer of truth, knowledge pusher, the visual emcee - and it's only rising from here. Next round will blow this here intro release out of the water, so don't sleep. We thank you all for the support. Rock that gear proudly, you're the first to know.. and if you don't know, we'll put you on. Stay tuned for our more jump-offs later this summer!
